The creepiest part of the above clip has nothing at all to do with the paranormal; to me, it’s the spiders infesting the house from the open spring in the basement. I’m really scared of spiders, and the camera crew did nothing to assuage those fears by focusing on the creepy crawly guys all over Montgomery House. Where Do Danielle Egnew’s Powers Come From?
Danielle Egnew talks frequently about her Cherokee heritage. We know for sure that her great-great-grandmother was a full-blood Cherokee, though its unclear how much Native blood flows through her veins besides that distant relative.
Danielle says she gained her psychic and paranormal abilities from her Cherokee blood. According to episodes of her “Haunted Playground” talk show, Danielle Egnew has a cousin with extra-sensory perception and a grandfather who could predict the exact date of a person’s death, a process known in folklore as “death masks.” According to Egnew, her grandfather would actually see the person’s face at the time of their death, and was able to communicate with the dead after they passed on. Clearly there’s a lot of psychic ability in Egnew’s family.
Egnew’s first experience with the paranormal came at the age of three, fairly young compared to most famous psychics. When she was three years old, Danielle claims she saw a vision of her dead aunt, who she never met. Egnew says these experiences continued through her life, even”predicting” the collapse of the World Trade Center on a visit to new York City in 1985.
